Calibroccoa - also known as Million Bells. It works very well in a low wide container, hanging baskets and even along the front of some flower beds. It flowers all summer. There is also a pink-flowered variety.

Lewisia cotyledon is one of my favourite alpines. I have it planted near the south-facing foundation of a building that was erected on a built-up gravel pad so the drainage is excellent. It has bloomed well for me over several seasons.

Lily 'Red Raven' {Parkland Perennials} This is a beautiful red Asiatic lily we saw on a visit to their gardens just south of Spruce Grove, Alberta.

Lily 'Granny' from Parkland Perennials. Another Asiatic lily that was putting on a marvellous show when we were there.

Lily 'Lollypop'. A truly gorgeous Asiatic lily. It is a prolific bloomer. The markings always make me want to smile.

Martagon Lily. This is a very tall and spectacular lily. Unfortunately I was unable to find a name for it.

Iris 'Ruffled Velvet' from Parkland Perennials. This is a gorgeous iris we saw during one of our visits to the gardens. It had almost finished blooming but I thought it was well worth a photo.
